Comments are some of the many factors that keep a website or a blog alive. It gives the author or the owner of the site a sense of acknowledgement by the public. Sometimes, not getting comments may discourage the author from writing. Here are some of the general reasons on why blogs may not get a lot of comments from the public.
Post size is too long
Sometimes, long posts may put off a lot of readers to read some of the contents in the site. No matter how good a post may be, a long one would most probably not get as many readers as one that is concise. Keep it to a maximum of 500 words per post. If writing a long post is absolutely necessary, write in different parts. Not only will it cause a lot more people to read, but it may also cause an increase in activity in the blog or website as well.
Writers did not ask readers to comment
As obvious as it may seem, tell the readers that their comments are always welcomed. This allows them to share their thoughts about the post. One way of getting them to comment is by asking questions to the reader related to the post.
